A masterpiece worth talking about.
I had the privilege to watch this movie a week ago and I knew I was watching a classic before it will become one.
I usually am not one to praise trendy movies but I give credit where credit is due.
The movie is about the Joker and talks about mental health in different spectrums. Mental health is a very serious and fragile subject that can be misinterpreted and misrepresented a lot of times. In this case, I believe the pace and the representation of character development through different paradigms.
If you haven’t watched any Batman movies you can still watch this movie and understand everything. There are references to Batman and his story but this only touches on the very basic understanding of why someone would kill his parents.
The story is touching and paced at a very smart time. Everything is done for a reason. The slow development, in the beginning, brings unease and suspense for an intense storyline that gets more interesting within every minute.
Also, I wanted to praise Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) for his amazing performance. Damn what a master. The movie wouldn’t have been the same without his interpretation of the character. He made this movie the masterpiece it is.
I would really urge you to watch the movie. Cinema is expensive but for this movie, it was worth every penny.
