“They just eat lettuce”

Yes, I’m going to talk about vegetarianism today.  I’ve been a vegetarian for one and a half years and the question that I get a lot is “why did you decide to do it?”, and the answer is simple, I have respect for life. I’m not going to lie, I was a big meat lover and I still talk about meat and recipes as if I never stopped eating it (and sometimes I even crave meat) but I came to the conclusion that I like animals more than meat.

If 3 years ago you were to come up to me and tried to make me consider vegetarianism, I would slowly walk away and run. At the time, everyone said that veggie people weren’t healthy and that they would only eat salad and if you still think that, I’m here to tell you the truth. I’m not that good of an example because I’m quite lazy to cook even though I enjoy doing it, but I haven’t been eating salad nor drinking milk this whole time, I actually started trying a lot more new things like tofu, seitan, quinoa, and so on. Even if you’re not veggie you can still have these ingredients on your menu, try it some day. As for the health part, I wouldn’t continue doing this if it was damaging my body in some way, I actually feel better.

Now, I’m not trying to convince or make anyone feel guilty. You actually need a lot of motivation and support to pull this off. Just go out there and try something different, I’m sure you’ll find something you like (except beet, don’t try beet it tastes like dirt).
