Different countries have different ways to say “hi”. I’m not talking about waving or shaking hands, but something a little more personal.
In Portugal, we kiss the person even if we don’t know him/her very well. For me, it’s quite evasive to have someone to approach me like that and that’s why I never liked to kiss on the cheek as a form of saying “hi”.
I am a hug person but due to my shyness I never hug and that’s why the way I say “hi” to people can be so awkward sometimes.
The hug is something so comforting and transmits so many emotions, as for the kiss it’s just so “bubble/personal space” evasive.
Is this just me? Am I the weird one?
